The Obra Social “la Caixa” announced on April the winners of the Postdoctoral Junior Leader fellowships, among whom was Dr. Arnau Carné in the Retaining category.
The Postdoctoral Junior Leader fellowships (Retaining) programme is aimed at hiring excellent researchers, of any nationality and any research field, who wish to continue their research career in Spain or Portugal, to work at any university or research centre of the country. Sponsored by Obra Social ”la Caixa”, the objectives of this programme are to foster high-quality, innovative research and to support the best scientific talent by providing them with an attractive, competitive environment in which to conduct excellent research.
By means of a complementary training programme, these fellowships are intended to consolidate research skills and to foster an independent scientific career, focusing in training on transversal skills, innovation and leadership as an option for the future. Candidates were selected according to the originality and significance of their contributions in their corresponding scientific discipline, together with demonstrated leadership skills to head their own research group.
Dr. Arnau Carné, a senior postdoctoral researcher at the Supramolecular NanoChemistry & Materials Group at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), has been awarded within this fellowship program.
His proposal is focused to develop a new chemistry for designing porous materials based on the assembly of nanoscale building units defining a cavity. The research project will be funded with a total of 300.000 euros for three years.
Congratulations Dr. Arnau Carné!
